After living in an impoverished neighborhood for a long period of time, Barack has a great amount of respect and care for people in poverty. He wants the wealth to be spread around so everyone can enjoy life and success. He wrote in his book, "I simply believe that those of us who have benefited most from this new economy can best afford to shoulder the obiligation of ensuring every American child has a chance for the same success."(194) Obama believes that everyone deserves a chance to grow up with wealth and success. He wants the wealthy people to give back to their country and help develop younger people with great potential. I admire and respect Barack Obama more than any political figure I have ever learned about. Of all of them, he is the only one with legitimate morals and motivation.

Audacity of Hope... 4?
As most americans know, Barack Obama is a moral, upstanding person with an unbreakable belief system. Barack reaches out to everyone, keeping everyone's well-being in mind. He's a man who does his best for others so they can become the best they can be. He speaks about the economy and wealthy Americans who should consider others before themselves, "I admire many Americans of great wealth and don't begrudge their success in the least. I know that man if not most have earned it through hard work, building businesses and creating jobs and providing value to their customers."(193) He understands that people have worked incredibly hard their whole lives to get where they are today and also that they have earned everything they have. Barack worked hard his entire life; eventually getting him into the Illinois Senate, and later, President of the United States. Barack, however, does feel that the wealthy citizens should give back to their community and help others in need.

I find it amazing that even though Barrack is better of because he president, wealth speaking, he still cares about those who are living in poverty. And the fact he believes that people who are wealthy should still give back to their communities because he's had experiences of living in poverty. The fact he hasn't given up on his old life is refreshing, because many wealthy people forget that they too were once poorer. That just makes me admire Obama even more.
I agree that giving to the poor is an excellent idea, but is it actually working simply an idea? I don't want to sound snotty or judgemental, but I don't think throwing money at a problem solves the problem. Unfortunately, not all people have the same high morals as Barack Obama and will not give back with work in exchange for money. I believe people should work for their money, not just have it handed to them. If money is simply handed to you, do you have any incentive to work? No. If this were a perfect world, everyone would work and things would get done. Money is good when it gives opportunity, but simply handing out money in attempt advance the impoverished does not increase opportunities to succeed. I agree with Obama that it is an excellent idea, but I do not think the idea will achieve all that it is hoped to.
Its really really nice that we finally have a president that lives in the real world and actually will help the U.S. again. Its good to know that the nation is in good hands. Its also gratifying to have a president that can actually speak correctly. I hope by the time Bush leaves, he doesn't do too much damage to us. I have many expectations for Obama.
I do not think that Obama is advocating simply "throwing money at the problem". What I think he is saying is that every child in America should be given the same chance at a great education. Every child has potential and the problem is that many kids' potential is being wasted simply because they can not afford to be properly educated. I do agree with you Hannah that there are people in the world who would take advantage of money being handed to them. They would sit and not work, living off other hardworking people's money. However, I believe that now more than ever, because Obama has created a new sense of "patriotism" and responsibility, less people would make that decision. That's why I believe that Obama's idea of every child getting the same opportunity will work. Money shouldn't keep someone from living up to their potential.
